Artist Talk on the 21st of August from 17-19

Last Day 21st of September

Slow Pathways is an exhibition about a way of being in the world.

The American poet Mary Oliver writes in a poem “I walk slowly and bow often”.
These words describe a deep presence with the surroundings, nature and a reverence for life.

Annette has created this exhibition to remind herself and us of this approach to life. And not least to notice that which does not draw attention to itself. In other words, to become more aware of how we use our attention.

We’ve all experienced how the sun glinting off the leaves of the trees, a friendly glance from a passer-by or the gentle movement of the waves on the beach can change your entire day because you are present in the moment. We wander through life and it’s always the same trip and it’s never the same trip. This observational curiosity is essentially where the artist’s creative process starts. Getting lost and staying a moment longer can be where beauty emerges.
