The title of the exhibition “Keepsake” is a Japanese term meaning to recall or to remember. This exhibition is retrospective in nature and marks Malene Müllertz’s huge contribution to Danish ceramics. The artist, who celebrates her 75th birthday this year, has been a true driving force since her debut in the 1970s, shaping developments through her ability to innovate. With her circus family behind her, Malene Müllertz has experimented to perfection with a special understanding of material, form and color. Stylistically, there is a diversity, and it is precisely this ability to adapt that gives Malene Müllertz the freedom and capacity to think conceptually and refine an idea through play and curiosity.
