Davis Gallery is proud to present the solo exhibition Terra Incognita
with Håkan Nyström
Welcome to the opening on Saturday, 19 September, 2–5 pm
Artist talk 24 September, 5–7 pm
Last day 17 October
In Håkan Nyström’s paintings, the familiar shifts. Houses, roads, doors, windows and light emerge in precise, quiet compositions, yet seem to belong to a world that resists any single, definitive explanation.
With a distinctive sensitivity to light, space and silence, Nyström moves between the visible and the invisible, between presence and absence, reality and imagination.
The paintings do not tell a complete story. Instead, they open up a space for interpretation, a place where the familiar gradually becomes strange, and where the unknown draws closer.
Welcome to a world that is recognisable – and at the same time unknown.
