Into the Light
Opening Thursday, May 8, 17 – 20
Artist Daniel Goldenberg has refined and developed his own unique style of hyperrealism. In his paintings, he conveys the essence of existence while exploring the possibilities of light and striving for a perfect balance in composition.
The paintings have their own quiet aesthetic, where the beauty is in the details. You experience the magic in the snapshot of the frothing sea by the cliffs on Bornholm, where he fascinatingly captures all the light reflections as the waves break. You recognize the powerful buildings from the streets of Copenhagen that rise up from the asphalt like monumental elements, and are especially moved when Goldenberg zooms in on the sidewalks we normally just walk over. He captures a small moment with a detail, perhaps a dandelion whose beauty and insistence on survival is captured in a flash of light.
When Goldenberg paints frothing seas or hard, cold cobblestones, it is also an invitation into a free space where the turmoil, brutality and unpredictability of our time does not exist.
-‘In our time, art is especially needed, not as a commentary on the world and what is wrong with it, but as an entrance to a space that exists at all times as a potential for what moves and enriches us’ says Daniel Goldenberg.
Come, let yourself be captured by the perfection of the moment… Let’s go Into the Light!
