Emerging Moments explores a meeting between the works of two Icelandic artists, Elísabet Olka and Ingunn Fjóla, in which time, materiality, and sensory experience are central points of focus. The artists engage with related questions of structure, perception, and materiality, yet through distinctly different artistic languages.
Elisabet Olka works with a figurative and sensuous expression, in which materiality and the tactility of clay find their way into small, composed and poetic narratives, that can be assembled according to personal preference.
Ingunn Fjóla is interested in the conceptual significance of material and colour. Painting and weaving merge into a unified whole, where frame, color, and woven surfaces come together to form new constellations that challenge traditional ways of thinking.
We look forward to seeing you,
Welcome
